PRESS RELEASE: Winona Lake man charged in rape

This afternoon, Warsaw Police arrested a 50 year old Winona Lake man and closed a two week investigation of rape of a seventeen year old Warsaw girl. On April 6th, 2014, Warsaw Police were called to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a possible rape. Investigators found that in the early morning hours of April 6th, Michael J. Elliott, forced sexual acts with the seventeen year old family friend at her Warsaw residence. Warsaw Police sought arrest warrants for rape, a class B felony, and sexual battery, a class D felony against Elliott and served those warrants today. Elliott was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and booked in on the charges with a $50,000 bond. Warsaw Police were assisted by the Winona Lake Police Department and the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
