This Saturday, April 26, 2014, the CV Alliance along with Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station and Glendale Police Department are participating in the nationwide drug "take-back" day on from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
This one-day event will provide residents with no cost anonymous collection of unwanted and expired medicines. The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
Area Locations are:
CVS Pharmacy-Montrose, 2037 Verdugo Blvd., Montrose
Rite-Aid Pharmacy-La Crescenta, 2647 W. Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta
Rite-Aid Pharmacy-La Canada, 647 Foothill Blvd., La Canada Flintridge
Glendale Community College-Glendale, 1500 N. Verdugo Rd., Glendale
Last October, Americans turned in 324 tons (over 647,000 pounds) of prescription drugs at over 4,114 sites operated by the DEA and its thousands of state and local law enforcement partners. When those results are combined with what was collected in its seven previous Take Back events, DEA and its partners have taken in over 3.4 million pounds—more than 1,700 tons of pills.
