PRESS RELEASE: Overnight Armed Robbery at Warsaw Lassus Handy Dandy

Around 4:00 a.m. this morning, Warsaw Police responded to Lassus Handy Dandy at 1900 Plaza Drive for an armed robbery. The store clerk told police that the suspect entered the store while other customers were present and was acting strange, milling around the store. Once the other customers left, the suspect approached the counter and displayed a black handgun and stated something to the effect that “I need the money or else I’m gonna shoot” and “I gotta feed my babies”. The clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and the suspect left the store walking south. The clerk did not know if the suspect had a vehicle.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 30’s, wearing a white zip up hoodie with a dark design on the right side of the hood and a dark design on the chest. The suspect was described as approximately 5’3” to 5’4” in height and weighing approximately 170 pounds. The suspect may have short black hair and a goatee. The clerk advised that the suspect wore a red bandana around his neck and face and another red bandana in his hand was used to cover his face. He also wore dark colored pants and dark shoes.
The investigation continues by Warsaw Police. Warsaw PD was assisted by the Indiana State Police and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
