Operation Take-back

The LYNDHURST POLICE DEPARTMENT in conjunction with The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) New Jersey Division invites you to participate in this year’s National Take Back Initiative to be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014.

The goal of the program is to allow the residents of Lyndhurst to rid their homes of unused, unwanted, or expired medications by turning these medications in so that they may be disposed of in a safe and non-hazardous manner, preventing these pills from falling into the wrong hands.

The collection site will be located at the Lyndhurst Police Department, 367 Valley Brook Avenue. The drop-off site will be open from 10am – 2pm.

Prescription drug abuse is the nation’s fastest growing drug problem. The take back events are a useful tool to reducing the diversion and abuse of medications. Keeping medications out of the wrong hands will help keep our families stronger and our communities safer.
