As predicted, potentially severe weather approaches our area - the FPD wants you to know the following:
(1) Monitor a reliable weather warning source such as the National Weather Service (NOAA Weather Radio) and local media. Weather warnings *will not* be issued on FPD Nixle or Twitter.
(2) Outdoor warning sirens may *not* be heard from inside of your home or business.
(3) Pre-identify your safe place now, and go there *immediately* when a tornado warning is issued.
(4) If you hear tornado sirens, *do not* call FPD Dispatch to find out what to do. If a tornado warning is issued, seek immediate shelter.
(5) Follow @FranklinTNPD on Twitter for up-to-the minute details on storm damage and other post-storm information.
The National Weather Service is asking that we share the message, "Don't be scared, be prepared."
