Police Conduct Compliance Checks

On May 1, 2014, the Los Banos Police Department in collaboration with the Merced County Probation Department and California State Parole conduct a series of compliance checks on State Parolees, Merced County Probationers, sex offenders and individuals released under California’s AB109 - State Prison Realignment.

The State of California has provided the Department funding for these types of operations; these operations allow the Department to check-in on offenders released under State Prison Realignment without impacting the City’s general fund budget.

During the operation twelve people were arrested and/or cited for outstanding warrants, drug possession and drug sales, and violation of parole/probation. The Department was pleased to see most of those contacted were in compliance and this strengthens our belief in the importance of these operations.

The following individuals were placed under arrest during the operation:
1) Nicole Sanchez, 35 – Warrant Arrest
2) Noe Roman, 21 – Warrant Arrest
3) Cain Noriega, 27 – Warrant Arrest
4) Angelo Cardoso, 32 – Warrant Arrest, Possession of drug paraphernalia
5) Aaron Bonilla, 28 – Possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation
6) Jesse Kendzora, 37 - Possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia
7) Leonardo Covarrubias, 41 - Parole violation for sex offense
8) Carlos Salinas, 33 – Flash incarceration
9) Juan Bueno, 36 – Possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest
10) Isaac Gonzalez, 18 – Weapons violation
11) Ramiro Gonzalez, 22 – Violation of probation
12) Robert Sandoval, 43 – Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of parole

“We plan on continuing these random compliance checks along with other operations throughout the year and as we make our way into summer, our residents will notice an increase in police presence.”
- Jason Hedden, Police Commander
