On Thursday May 8th, 2014, at approximately 9:00 P.M., a Traffic Collision occurred involving an MTA bus and a motorcycle in the community of Chatsworth. A motorcyclist was traveling westbound Nordhoff St just east of Canoga Ave when it collided with an MTA bus that was negotiating a left turn into private property from eastbound Nordhoff St. The motorcyclist continued in a northwest direction and collided with the roadway, curb and light pole. The motorcycle then caught on fire. The victim was pronounced dead at scene.
The victim has been identified as Manuel Jimenez Galvan, a resident of Chatsworth.
