PRESS RELEASE: Active Meth Lab Found in Warsaw Hotel, Arrests Made
May 12, 2014
On Friday, May 9, 2014 at approximately 12:45 p.m., Warsaw Police were called to the Comfort Inn after hotel staff could not get into a room after the occupants should have checked out. Officers arrived and found the safety lock bar on the door engaged but could see a male subject sleeping on the bed. After several attempts, the male was awakened and opened the door. Once inside, officers located an active one-pot methamphetamine lab, precursors to the manufacture of meth, syringes, and finished methamphetamine product. A female was also present in the room.
Richard D. Cain, 33 years of age, of Warsaw was taken into custody and booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on a B felony charge of dealing, delivering, or manufacturing methamphetamine. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
Also taken into custody was 24 year old, Courtney C. Bowling, of North Webster. She was booked into the jail on a charge of possession of over three (3) grams of methamphetamine. She was also charged with possession of stolen property after the vehicle the pair drove to the hotel was found to have a stolen license plate on it. She is being held on a $25,000 bond.
Warsaw Police were assisted by Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory and the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team.
Warsaw Police continue to diligently work to reduce the influence of illegal drug activity in our community. Any drug tips can be called into the Warsaw Police Department at 574-372-9540.
