Southern Pines Police Department Seeks Community Assistance
with Recent Home Burglaries
The Southern Pines Police Department is currently investigating several home burglaries that have occurred in the area of Fairway Drive and Indian Trail in Southern Pines, NC. Many of the burglaries currently under investigation have occurred while the homeowners have been away from home for extended periods of time. In the most recent burglary, the perpetrator left behind a military style black backpack containing multiple “burglary tools.” Among the items inside the backpack were night vision “Night Owl Optics” with a headband, a “Sheffield” folding blade pocket knife, black pry bar, and a yellow and black DeWalt power drill with a hole saw bit. The Southern Pines Police Department asks that any citizen that may have seen someone carrying the backpack contained in the attached photographs, or can identify the owner of the property in the attached photographs to contact the Southern Pines Police Department at 910-692-7031 or anonymously on our Crime Tip Line at 910-693-4110.
The Southern Pines Police Department would like to remind the community of the department’s “Unattended Property Check” program. Any resident in the jurisdiction of the Southern Pines Police Department who anticipates being away from home for any period of time is encouraged to contact the Southern Pines Police Department’s Communications Division at 910-692-7031 or in person at 450 W. Pennsylvania Avenue to arrange for their property to be checked by a uniform patrol officer while the resident is away.
