Announces Arrest for:
Felony Hit and Run
The Southern Pines Police Department announces the arrest of Christopher Ignatius Dejak, 18 years of age, of Pinehurst, North Carolina on the above listed charge. This arrest stems from an investigation conducted by the Patrol Division of the Southern Pines Police Department related to a “Hit and Run” motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian which occurred in front of 1185 W. Pennsylvania Avenue in Southern Pines on May 13, 2014.
Christopher Ignatius Dejak appeared before a Moore County Magistrate and was incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center under $5,000.00 secured bond pending a hearing on June 24, 2014 in Moore County District Court.

Southern Pines Police Department:
Seeks Information for Hit and Run Investigation
The Southern Pines Police Department is actively investigating a “Hit and Run” motor vehicle crash that occurred in front of Douglas Community Center located at 1185 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, Southern Pines, North Carolina. At approximately 8:45pm, on Tuesday May 13, 2014, a resident of Southern Pines was struck by a gray in color motor vehicle while attempting to cross W. Pennsylvania Avenue. The victim in this hit and run incident was airlifted to a medical facility for treatment and has been listed in stable condition by the attending healthcare provider.
