Suspect arrested for car break-ins at church.
On Sunday 6-1-14, units were called to the North Rocky Mount Church of God on Goldrock Road in reference to break-ins to two vehicles. Unknown suspect(s) broke into the vehicles while owners were inside in church service. Through investigation it was determined that the suspect used one of the victim's credit cards at the Marathon Gas Station in Goldrock that morning. Units responded to the store and were able to get video of the suspect and his vehicle. Units began searching the area trying to locate the suspect. A short time later, the suspect returned to the same store and tried to use a credit card again. The Clerk at the store was able to get the tag number off of the suspect's vehicle and give it to the NCSO. Units responded to the suspect's residence on Drake Road where he was located and taken into custody without incident. Suspect confessed to breaking into the vehicles and was charged with two (2) counts of B&E to a Motor Vehicle. He was given a written promise to appear in court by the Magistrate.
