Matthew Arambula (19 years of age) was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Public Servant, a First Degree Felony. He was magistrated by Lytle Municipal Judge Gerry Elias and transported to the Atascosa Co. Jail and booked in at approx. 8:00 pm. The San Antonio Police Dept. provided invaluable assistance and resources which directly led to their identification and apprehension of our suspect. We were very fortunate that assistance was offered and provided by numerous agencies including the Sheriff’s Offices from Atascosa Co., Bexar Co. and Medina Co. as well as Texas Ranger Sgt. Shane Staley. We received numerous tips and leads from the general public, which we are still following up on. The Lytle Police Dept. greatly appreciates this outpouring of assistance. It is very early in the investigation and our work is far from over. We will not be releasing any further information at this time due to our active criminal investigation.
