The Washington Police have an important message for you! Transient and unlicensed meat sellers operating in the area.
Residents should be aware of a group of people going door to door in a dark Ford pick-up with Maine registration, that may have a sign saying "Steakhouse Steaks" on it. The people operating this "business" are known to be involved with burglaries and other criminal conduct.
They are selling rancid and unsafe products and are not licensed or inspected by the proper agencies. They cajole their way into a potential customer's house to get a layout of the property and gain a lot of personal information about the homeowner.
SPECIAL ATTENTION- Marlow Rd & Ashuelot Pond Association residents/property owners: The last sighting of this vehicle was in Surry in late May/early June.
If this vehicle, or any transient meat seller should appear at your house you should not allow them into the house, and not answer or offer any personal information about the house or it's residents. Ask to see a NH DHHS Division of Public Health Services license to sell. If another family member can notify the police without antagonizing the subjects they should do so by either 911 or 603-495-3233 (DO NOT CALL THE POLICE STATION DIRECTLY), or make a call once you are no longer with the person.
Any questions or information can be directed to the Washington Police Department at 603-495-3233 or [email protected]
