Trooper Injured in Early Morning Crash
New Albany-This morning at approximately 5:00 am, Trooper Scott Parkes, driving his 2008 Crown Victoria Police Car, was north on Slate Run Road near Beeler Street in New Albany. For an unknown reason he went off the right side, (east), of the roadway. He then over corrected and his police car went west across Slate Run Road striking an electric pole on the west side of the roadway. He was not on an emergency run at the time of the crash.
Trooper Parkes was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY by ground ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
Trooper Scott Parkes, 25, from Floyd County, has been a trooper for one year and is assigned Clark and Floyd Counties. Trooper Parkes was wearing his seat belt
