Even though the non-Oakwood University fatality accident at the front gate has been cleared, the West Gate will remain open until 8:30am this morning. Channel 48 News reported that the West Gate was open to the campus due to the accident. By leaving the gate open until 8:30am, visitors and members of the campus community who may have viewed the newscast will have the opportunity to enter campus through this entrance.
