On 06-13-14, the Nash County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, with the assistance of the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office, arrested a Rocky Mount man for Cocaine trafficking. Anthony Marvell Evans of 1321 Horne St. Rocky Mount, NC was arrested after Investigators stopped him in the parking lot of the Nashville Wal-Mart. Evans was found to be in possession of 254.6 grams of Cocaine. Authorities also seized $7,970 in US Currency from Evans during the investigation. Evans, 42 years old, has several felony convictions related to drugs dating back to 1994. Evans is the owner/operator of Hussan Best Bet convenient mart on S. Alston St. in Nashville, NC. Evans was charged with trafficking Cocaine by possession and trafficking Cocaine. Evans received a $75,000.00 secured bond. Evans is expected to make his first court appearance on June 17th, 2014.
