On June 14, 2014 at 8:55 p.m. Fountain Valley Police Officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the Stater Brothers parking lot located at 11085 Warner Ave. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who had been stabbed multiple times in the upper torso area. The victim was transported to a local hospital and underwent emergency surgery for his injuries. He is currently listed in critical condition.

Investigation revealed the victim was walking to his car in the parking lot after purchasing groceries. He was confronted by the suspect in the lot who demanded his car keys. A struggle ensued at which time the victim was stabbed approximately four times. The suspect fled the area on foot. The victim and suspect did not know each other.

Responding officers detained a 17 year old male from Fountain Valley who matched the suspect description. The suspect was detained approximately one block east of the crime scene and was later positively identified by multiple witnesses. The suspect is currently on probation and was arrested for attempted carjacking and attempted murder. He was booked into Orange County Juvenile Hall.
