Thefts from Motor Vehicles: Schoolhouse Lane – Remove valuables & lock doors. 
The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department is investigating several thefts from parked motor vehicles on Schoolhouse Lane that occurred overnight on Friday June 20th .
The common thread in these larcenies is that the vehicles were left unlocked with loose change and valuables left inside. Vehicle owners are strongly advised to follow basic safety rules to discourage thefts, such as not leaving valuables in your vehicle and always locking it.
Persons should keep a list of serial numbers or identifying marks on their valuables. Should the police recover any stolen property, it will be easier to get it returned to the owner.
Anyone who observes suspicious persons or vehicles should immediately call the Town of Poughkeepsie Police at 845-485-3666. Tips may also be left by calling the police department or submitting information anonymously at www.townpolice.net .
