On June 17, 2014 the Los Banos Police Department in collaboration with California State Parole conducted a series of compliance checks on State Parolees, Merced County Probationers and individuals released under California’s AB109- State Prison Realignment.
The State of California has provided the Department funding for these types of operations; these operations allow the Department to check-in on offenders released under State Prison Realignment without impacting the City’s general fund budget.
During the operation five individuals were arrested for outstanding warrants, drug and weapon possession, and violation of parole.
The following individuals were placed under arrest:
1. Mathew Chavarria, 28 Possession of Controlled Substance
2. Roy Bristow, 54 Violation of Parole
3. Juan Zavala, 21 Violation of Parole, Possession of prohibited weapon
4. Richard Castillo Violation of Parole
5. Unnamed Juvenile Warrant Arrest
