Homes are being burglarized during daylight hours through unlocked or open windows.
Thieves are also breaking into cars during hours of darkness by smashing out windows and taking items that are in plain view.
Suspects are targeting jewelry and small electronic items in both homes and cars.

& Van Ness Ave. to Normandie Ave.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Lock your house up including all of your windows when you leave.
Pay attention to people going from house to house knocking on doors or milling about the front or side yards of your neighbors houses.
Park your car in a well-lit area of the street and remember to Lock it, Hide it, Keep it.
Don’t hesitate to call the police regarding suspicious people or activity.

Street Robberies have recently risen.
Suspects are typically approaching victims on foot and targeting electronics and/or visible jewelry.
THE AREA MOST AFFECTED:
From 8th Ave. to West Blvd.
& 67th St. to 79th St.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Pay attention to your surroundings.
Avoid becoming distracted with texting, talking or listening to music on your device.
Don’t flash or overly expose your jewelry or electronics while walking alone.
Immediately call the police regarding suspicious people or activity.
