#LASD Sets Up Containment and Murder Suspect Caught, Norwalk Sheriff’s Sta

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Norwalk Sheriff’s Station searched a Whittier neighborhood earlier today for a suspect wanted in connection with a recent murder.

The suspect and another man were seen in the 11500 block of Telechron Avenue, Unincorporated Whittier, at approximately 1:15 p.m. Deputies from Norwalk Station responded and immediately set up a containment of the area. Personnel from LASD Aero Bureau and LASD K-9 were on scene. Deputies from Pico Rivera Station, Lakewood Station, Century Station and Transit Services Bureau also assisted Norwalk Station with the search.

The suspect, Francisco Reza Guardado, was wanted for a murder that occurred on Friday, June 20, 2014, in Unincorporated Whittier. The identity of the second man has not been determined.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. this evening, an LASD Special Weapons Team responded to the 11500 block of Telechron after it was determined that the suspect and the second male were barricaded inside a residence. A short time later, murder suspect Francisco Reza Guardado was taken into custody by team members without incident. The second man was also taken into custody after he was found hiding inside the location.

There is no further information available at this time.
