Robbery Suspect Arrested
On June 25, 2014 at approximately 1:32 p.m., the Los Banos Police Department responded to the area of Park Warren Drive and Pismo Way regarding a robbery. Officers arrived and contacted the victim who reported a Hispanic male juvenile wearing a red hat and a striped shirt approached him with a handgun and robbed him of his bicycle. The victim cooperated with the suspect and was not injured during the robbery.
Approximately 10 minutes later, Detective Sean Bayard stopped a 14-year-old male a short distance away, riding the victims bicycle and wearing the clothing described by the victim. The juvenile was placed under arrest after being identified by the victim as the robbery suspect. Officers searched the suspect but a firearm was not located.
“The victim was able to provide a good description of the handgun and our Detectives will continue to search for it. I would urge anyone with information about this incident to contact the Police Department.”
- Ray Reyna, Commander
The juvenile was placed under arrest for robbery charges and later booked into the Merced County Juvenile Hall facility.
