Personal Injury Accident on US131.
SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Personal Injury Accident
DATE AND TIME: Saturday, June 28, 2014 at approximately 5:15 P.M.
LOCATION: US131 near mile marker 120, Reynolds Township
The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office investigated a car-deer crash that sent two women to the hospital with minor injuries.
Pamela Salamone, age fifty-five of Caledonia, was traveling south on US131. A separate vehicle struck a deer in the roadway causing it to go through the windshield of Salamone’s 2008 Chevrolet Malibu. Salamone and her passenger, Susan Smith, age fifty-three of Martin, sustained minor injuries and both were transported to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids by Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services for treatment.
The off ramp from US131 to M-46 was closed for approximately one half hour while the scene was cleared.
