On July 1, 2014 at approximately 1:48 a.m., the Los Banos Police Department responded to a business in the 1300 Block of Pacheco Boulevard to investigate a burglar alarm. Sergeant Brent Torongo arrived and met with a store employee, who had also responded to check on the alarm.
As Officers began checking the inside of the business they located 19-year-old Isaac Robles of Los Banos inside the store removing cigarettes from a shelf and placing them inside of a bag. Robles complied with Officers and was taken into custody without incident. As Officers continued to check the inside of the store, a 17-year-old male attempted to run out of the store and had to be physically restrained.
“Our Officers did an outstanding job apprehending both suspects and saving the business from what could have been a significant theft. In addition, we will now pursue the parents of the juvenile, who are ultimately responsible for what he did that evening.”

Robles was booked into the Los Banos Police Department pending $15,000.00 bail, charged with commercial burglary. Robles is currently in custody at the Merced Main Jail. The juvenile was transported to the Merced County Juvenile Hall charged with commercial burglary.
