Hit and Run driver sought after causing serious injuries to pedestrian.
On June 28, 2014, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Fernando Valdivia, 71 years old, was standing near a gasoline station island at the Mobil gas station located at 245 W. Slauson Avenue when he was struck by a hit and run vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stopped briefly then left the scene without identifying himself or rendering aid. Mr. Valdivia suffered fractures to his left leg and left arm and was transported to California Hospital Medical Center by paramedics from LAFD. He was admitted into the hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The hit and run vehicle is described as a 2000-2005 red Chevy Silverado pick-up truck, with an extended cab. The driver is a male, Hispanic, black hair, 5’6”, 170 Lbs., 30-40 years old. Witnesses were unable to obtain the license plate number.
