Scott County Man Arrested For Battering Child

Austin-Yesterday evening, the Austin City Police Department and the Scott County Division of Child Services responded to a report of a three year old child that had been allegedly battered by the mother’s boyfriend. The child was evaluated by medical teams from the Kosair Children’s Hospital and the University of Louisville Hospital because of the injuries sustained.

Early this morning, the Indiana State Police was contacted to assist in the investigation. After speaking to the boyfriend, Samuel Tyler Green, 21, from York Road in Austin, the detective placed him under arrest. Samuel Tyler Green was incarcerated at the Scott County Jail on the charges of Battery Involving a Child with Serious Bodily Injury, Level Three Felony and Neglect of a Dependant, Level Five Felony.

This investigation is continuing with no further information being released at this time.
