PRESS RELEASE: Road Closings Notification
RE: Center Street, Main Street, and Market Street Railroad Crossings
Beginning Monday, July 21, 2014 Norfolk and Southern Railroad will be completely closing the Center Street and Main Street railroad crossings for infrastructure repairs. The Center Street and Main Street crossings will be closed simultaneously and should be closed for 3-4 days, weather dependent.
As soon as the Center Street and Main Street railroad crossings are repaired, Norfolk and Southern Railroad will be moving to the Market Street crossing for the same infrastructure repairs. The Market Street crossing should be closed for 1-2 days, weather dependent.
The road surface along the railroad tracks will be fully removed from curb to curb, so during this time there will be no on-street parking along all of Hickory Street.
The approved detour will direct traffic to Winona Avenue. The City asks that motorists avoid the closed streets and follow the marked detours.
