31st Annual - National Night Out. Starting August 5th, 2014 from 5 to 9 pm.

On Tuesday, August 5th, neighborhoods throughout Upland are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “31st Annual National Night Out” crime and drug prevention event.

National Night Out (NNO) is designed to (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

From 5 to 9 p.m., residents in neighborhoods throughout Upland and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. Many neighborhoods throughout Upland will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from police, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and anticrime rallies.

To plan for an officer to visit your neighborhood, please contact Officer Anthony Kabayan at (909) 920-6530 or [email protected]. We are making every effort to help you fight crime in your community. Help us by showing your community involvement and pride in being an Upland resident.
