As of today, new security procedures are being implemented in the Van Buren Municipal Complex, which includes Van Buren City offices and the Crawford County District Courtroom. A metal detector and x-ray machine are Included in the new security measures. These security procedures are being implemented to make the municipal complex safer and to ensure that no weapons or contraband are being brought into the building. The metal detector and x-ray machine will be operated by a certified Van Buren Police officer during the building’s normal business hours. Citizens who need to go into the complex are advised to allow extra time to accommodate the new procedures.
