For the fifth consecutive year the Los Banos Police Department has partnered with the Target, the Los Banos Fire Department, the California Highway Patrol and the Police Volunteers group, VITAL for National Night Out. This event is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and will be held on Tuesday, August 5th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Pine Street between Delaware and Illinois Avenue.
National Night Out is designed to:
-Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
-Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
-Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
-Send a message to criminals letting them know communities are organized and fighting back.
This event is open to the public, and staff will be present to fingerprint children and serve a limited number of hotdogs and soda to members of the public. Any questions can be referred to Crime Analyst Megan Soares at (209) 827-7070 ext 142.
