GAS LEAK REPAIRED and Wall Street has been re-opened
A significant gas leak occurred at approximately 10:15 AM at the corner of a commercial building on Wall Street between Locust Avenue and Monmouth Road. Approximately a dozen businesses, residences and a parochial school were evacuated, in addition to dogs from a groomer. No one was injured and utility crews were able to stem the leak sufficiently so that the breached line can be repaired. West Long Branch Fire Department, Police Department and Office of Emergency Management personnel were on the scene throughout the incident. Work crews remain in the area but are not interrupting traffic flow at the time.
Instructions:
Normal Vehicular and Pedestrian Traffic may resume in the area.
