On July 17, 2014 Grain Valley Police arrested five individuals in connection with a series of thefts from parked vehicles in southern Grain Valley. Numerous items of suspected stolen property were recovered. Detectives have subsequently determined that the majority of the recovered stolen items were from offenses which occurred on July 15 and 16, 2014. The victims in those cases have been contacted by police, and the cases have been submitted to both the Jackson County Prosecutors Office (adult suspects) and the Jackson County Juvenile Court (3 juveniles). These cases, and numerous other similar offenses, are still being investigated to determine if these suspects or others were involved. Some information developed is also being investigated in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies in Missouri and Kansas.
