Maricopa Fire Department Presents First Ever Kidz Fire Combat Challenge
On Saturday, August 9th 2014 from 9-11a.m. at fire station 572, located at 36930 w. Bowlin Rd, the Maricopa Fire Department will host the city’s first Kidz Fire Combat Challenge.
This event will feature a scaled down version of a firefighting obstacle course. Participants will dress in youth sized, replica, firefighting personal protective equipment; advance hoses towards a training prop and extinguish simulated fires within the prop.
This event is ideal for kids ranging in age from 3-10 years old. However, all community members are encouraged and invited to tour the fire station, sit in the fire engine, and interact with fire department personnel. Drinks and refreshments will be provided. Every kid that registers will be entered in a raffle to win a ride to school in a Maricopa Fire Department fire engine, along with a firefighter escort to class.
