Platt Road Bridge:
Construction will begin on the Platt Road Bridge rehabilitation project starting Monday, August 11, 2014. The bridge will be closed starting around 7:00 AM on Monday, August 11, 2014. The closure is expected to last until August 29, 2014, when it will be re-opened for the Labor Day weekend. There is a cure time for the concrete that will be used on the project. That cure time will require the bridge to remain closed while the cement is curing. During that curing time frame, there may not be active construction occurring on the bridge, however the closure will remain in place to protect the new concrete while it properly cures. It is anticipated that the bridge will remain open after Labor Day weekend except for one remaining phase of the project. That last phase will result in one additional closure after Labor Day to allow for an epoxy overlay to be applied. That closure will last 1-2 days. Scheduling will be dependent on weather conditions, and will be announced when it occurs.
