Pedestrian fatally struck southbound I-710 north of the I-405 freeway.
On Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at approximately 8:35 pm, South Los Angeles CHP received a radio call of a female pedestrian (Jane Doe) walking on the right shoulder on the northbound 710 near the 405 freeway in Long Beach. Officers located Jane Doe on the right shoulder just north of the 405 freeway. Officers observed Jane Doe run across the northbound lanes of the 710 and over the center divider wall into the southbound lanes of the 710. While running across on the southbound 710, Jane Doe was struck by a silver Toyota Corolla. After the collision, the driver of the Toyota pulled to the right shoulder. Jane Doe sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased on scene at 8:52 pm.
