SOUTHGATE
On Friday, August 8, at 10:05 a.m., a motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Parmelee Avenue approaching 96th Street. A Ford sedan was traveling westbound on 96th Street approaching Parmelee Avenue at approximately 30 miles per hour. The intersection of Parmelee Avenue and 96th Street is a four way intersection. Parmelee Avenue is controlled by posted stop signs for southbound and northbound traffic. There are no traffic controls for 96th Street. For an unknown reason, the motorcyclist failed to stop and rode through the intersection colliding into the right side of the Ford sedan. The rider was ejected and sustained fatal injuries.
AZUSA
On Saturday, August 9, at approximately 3:10 a.m., a wrong way driver traveling east on the west I-210 collided with a vehicle, killing the driver of the vehicle traveling in the right direction. The suspect fled the scene and was later apprehended. The suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol is being investigated as a cause in this collision.
AGUA DULCE
On Saturday, August 9, at 1:45 a.m., a female driver was traveling north on SR-14 south of Agua Dulce Canyon Road in the #1 lane at 65 MPH. The driver drifted to the left into the carpool lane and struck the concrete center median wall. As a result, the vehicle veered sharply to the right onto the shoulder and traveled up a dirt hillside causing it to overturn. The female driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected sustaining fatal injuries.
PARAMOUNT
On Saturday, August 9, at 4:40 a.m., a pedestrian was walking northbound on the transition from I-710 to the SR-91 eastbound. The pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver of that vehicle fled the scene. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
ROWLAND HEIGHTS
On Sunday, August 10, at 4:26 a.m., a multi-vehicle traffic collision on the eastbound SR-60 at Fairway Drive resulted in a man losing his life when he was ejected from his vehicle and onto the roadway. Six other people were injured as a result of this collision.

Drinking and driving don’t mix, driving with a blood alcohol content with .08% or more is illegal, but even with a lower BAC a driver may be a hazard and taken to jail. Always designate a non-drinking driver before the party begins. If you see a drunk driver please call 911.

The freeway is a very dangerous place for motorists, even more so for pedestrians. Our goal to save lives! If you get a flat tire, pull to the right and get off the freeway to a safer place.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 97.4 % of Californians wear their seatbelts. However, we still have fatal collisions where motorists and passengers are unrestrained. Always wear your seatbelt! It could mean the difference between a minor injury collision and losing your life!
