Grain Valley Police have identified an emerging crime pattern, occurring during overnight hours in residential areas south of Eagles Parkway . During the period of August 5-11th there have been three residential burglaries. In each instance, the suspect(s) entered through an unlocked back door while occupants slept and stole various electronic items such as laptops, televisions, etc. while the residents were sleeping.

Police are actively investigating these crimes, and conducted increased patrols in the areas. Citizens are asked to always lock residence doors and garages, as well as parked vehicles. Criminal suspects will simply try doors, and many times will be thwarted if the doors are locked. While some criminals will forcibly break in, many will leave if doors are locked. Do not make it easy on criminals by leaving your homes or cars unlocked and an open target to crime.
