INCIDENT: Attempted Commercial Burglary Arrest

NARRATIVE:
On August 14, 2014, at approximately 1754 hours, officers from the Sutter Creek Police Department were dispatched to the Hotel Sutter reference a subject attempting to break into a hotel storage area.
Upon the officer’s arrival, it was discovered the involved subjects had fled the area after being confronted by employees from the business. While conducting the investigation, officers saw the suspect vehicle driving east bound on Church Street. A vehicle stop was initiated and the driver of the vehicle was identified as Anthony Harkey from Diamond Springs. A female passenger was identified as Raylene Cooper from El Dorado.
A useable amount of methamphetamine was located inside of the vehicle, along with narcotics paraphernalia.
Anthony Harkey was subsequently arrested and booked at Amador County Jail and charged with attempted commercial burglary, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and dissuading a witness. Raylene Cooper was arrested and booked at the Amador County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. A booking photograph of Cooper can be obtained by contacting the Amador County Sheriff PIO.
