According to the Huron Township Police Department, three home invasions have happened in the past two days — all of which have occurred during the overnight hours.

Police Chief Everette Robbins says that the invasions took place while the occupants of the homes were present and sleeping.

According to Robbins, entry was gained into all three homes through windows that were left open in the lower areas of the residences.

“All three home invasions were similar in nature,” said Robbins.

Robbins says the suspects either cut or were able to remove the screens and quietly gain entrance into the homes.

The home invasions took place in the Claremont and Winding Creek subdivisions.

Miscellaneous property was taken from all three homes, some of which was similar in nature, said Robbins.

“People should be able to live in a place where we don’t have to lock our homes and our cars, but that’s just not the case in today’s world,” said Robbins.

“We want people to get the word out,” said Robbins.

Robbins asks that residents close and secure their windows when going to bed, noting that he isn’t trying to cause panic.

“We want the residents of Huron Township to remain vigilant,” he said.

If you have any information regarding these home invasions, call the Huron Township Police Department at 734-753-4400.
