Information from Livermore PD

On 08/17/2014, approximately 2115 hours, a sixteen year old female was walking in the area of Murrieta Blvd. and El Rancho Dr. She was approached from behind by the suspect. The suspect grabbed and sexually battered the victim. The victim was able to escape and call the Livermore Police Department.

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic male adult, between 20-30 years of age, about 6’ 00”, unshaven, medium build, short dark hair, wearing a black shirt and dark jeans.

This case is still under investigation. Investigators are attempting to determine if this incident is related to other assaults of lone females walking/jogging by themselves.

For increased safety, the Livermore Police Department encourages people to walk and jog in pairs. Walkers and joggers should be aware of their surroundings and keep a cellular phone with them. Walkers and joggers are discouraged from wearing earbuds and going into unpopulated and poorly lit areas at night.

Anyone with information that could assist with this investigation is asked to call Detective Glen Robbins at (925) 371-4760.
