Watch out for scammers!
Recently an elderly male was contacted in the parking lot of Costco by an unknown subject. The subject engaged the elderly male into conversation about the United States banking system. The subject also shared about a charity he was representing.
As the two discussed the United States banking system, the unknown subject was able to convince the elderly male to drive him to his bank and donate $12,000.00 cash to his charitable organization. As the two returned to the parking lot of Costco, the unknown subject exited the elderly male’s vehicle and never returned.
Officers determined the unknown male scammed the elderly male and represented a fake charitable organization.
