Arrest for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Violation of Court Probation by the SRJC PD (JC 14-0000479)
On Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at approximately 12:05 p.m., a Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) District Police Officer was patrolling the area by Tauzer Gymnasium. The District Police Department has received complaints from the community concerning transient subjects illegally using the locker room facilities. The officer observed Matthew Damon Madrid, a 40 year old Santa Rosa resident and known transient, loitering around the locker room entrance. Madrid is not a current SRJC student. During a probation search of Damon’s person and property, the officer discovered a methamphetamine pipe with a usable amount of methamphetamine still inside.
Madrid was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, and violation of probation. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
The Police Department would like to remind our community that the SRJC is an open campus and allows the public to use its facilities for educational and enrichment purposes. However, certain areas on campus, such as the athletic locker rooms, are reserved for current student, faculty, and staff use only. While the SRJC campuses are relatively safe environments, they are not crime free. Please help the Police Department by reporting any suspicious persons in and about these areas immediately at (707) 527-1000.
