On Sunday, August 31, 2014 at approximately 5:20 p.m., a Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) District Police Officer was patrolling the area by the SRJC front lawn area facing Mendocino Avenue. The officer observed Leland Pinola Jr., a 41 year old Santa Rosa resident, passed out on the lawn. The officer approached the Pinola and could smell alcohol coming from the area and noticed a Gatorade bottle with an alcoholic beverage within. Pinola is not a current SRJC student. During a records check it was discovered Pinola was on parole for gang activity with a violent assault. Pinola had an outstanding felony warrant for violation of this parole.
Pinola was arrested on the felony violation of parole warrant and possession of alcohol on school grounds. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
