ABRIL AND ROLLINS ARRESTS SOLVES BREAK AND ENTERING FOR AREA LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES

Campobello Police Department discovered a vehicle with individuals coming out of a storage building unit while on patrol. After officers began talking with them it was discovered that they had broken into the storage units. The individuals were arrested and transported to the Spartanburg County Detention Facility.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Tryon Police Department, and Columbus Police Department also had storage units within their jurisdiction that had been broken into. The agencies followed up with the information received from Campobello Police Department and made arrests of Cassius Abril and Tracy Rollins with numerous charges.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office charged Abril, 43 of Lynn Road Columbus, NC with 2 counts of Felony Breaking and Entering, 2 counts of Felony Larceny after Break and Entering, Felony to Obtain Property by False Pretense, and Conspire to Commit Felony Break and Entering/ Larceny. Abril was given an $88,000 secured bond and still currently remains in custody at the Polk County Detention Facility and has a next court appearance of September 3.

Sheriff’s Office Investigators also charged Rollins, 38 of Lynn Road Columbus, NC with Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny after Break and Entering, Felony Larceny, Conspire to commit Felony Larceny, Felony to Obtain Property by False Pretense, and Conspire to Commit Felony Break and Entering/ Larceny. Rollins is still being held on a $40,000 secured bond at the Polk County Detention Facility and she has a next court appearance of September 3.

Sheriff Donald J. Hill said, “This was a case of good police work and cooperation among all the agencies involved not only here in Polk County but from South Carolina as well.” There were a total of 7 different locations of storage buildings that were broken into in three different counties. It is unknown at this time the exact number of units involved. Law enforcement is still working with the owners of the storage buildings to see if more units have been broken into but not yet reported.

The case is still under investigation with additional charges against Abril and Rollins as well as more arrests in the case.
