New VIPS Class to begin in September. Please forward to anyone who might be interested.
APD is looking for a few good people!
We are going to host a new VIPS Class, Volunteers In Police Service (http://www.theiacp.org/VIPS) beginning with an informational meeting on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 6:30pm.
We are recruiting for both our road VIPS as well as our VIPS in Schools program. Please go to our website or click on this link: http://www.alexandriaky.org/index.php/alexandria-police-department/community-programs/v-i-p-s/ for more information.
If you are retired, or otherwise an adult looking to help your community and have a remote interest in what we do in law enforcement, we want to talk to you. This is not a police officer position, but it does help our officers in more ways than you can imagine.
Volunteers help with administrative tasks, work the road helping with vacation and business checks, help with traffic direction on accident scenes and our VIPS in Schools work to help protect our children by providing immediate notification and deterrence of violent people.
