The police activity on Ventura Blvd near Topanga Canyon Blvd, due to a suspicious package has ended and there is no threat to public safety.  The package in question was a backpack containing ordinary items.

The LAPD Topanga Station would like to thank the community for their cooperation and understanding while the investigation was taking place.

LAPD Topanga Patrol Officers have shut down Ventura Blvd between Farralone Avenue and Topanga Canyon Blvd. as a precaution while they investigate a suspicious package.

Please avoid the area if possible and utilize other routes as traffic will be congested in the area.
