CHP Officers provide valuable Active Shooter Training to Public Safety Officers employed by Exposition Park.
The California Highway Patrol is proud to announce a training partnership with the Exposition Park Department of Public Safety.
Officers from the Exposition Park Department of Public Safety (DPS) patrol Exposition Park, a State-owned park. This 160-acre park houses State museums, priceless artifacts and landmarks, and hosts millions of visitors per year.
Last week, members of the California Highway Patrol provided DPS officers with classroom instruction and physical scenarios related to emergency response.
Regarding the CHP training, Office of Exposition Park General Manager, Ana M. Lasso said, “I am grateful for the training opportunity provided to my DPS officers by the CHP. Exposition Park is continues to be a premier destination for residents of Los Angeles and beyond. With this training, all can feel even safer to visit.”
CHP Southern Division Chief Dan Bower said, “It is the CHP’s continued goal to assist allied agencies whenever and wherever possible. We are proud to stand with the Department of Public Safety in their continued pursuit of safety and security at Exposition Park.”
A Deparmental goal of the CHP is to maximize assistance to the public and assistance to allied agencies.
