Polk County Sheriff’s Office charged Zachery Logan Shehan, 26 of Boysenberry Lane in Landrum with three counts of Statutory Rape. Sheriff’s Investigators say that they received a report from the victim’s parents regarding information that Shehan and their daughter had been in involved in an inappropriate relationship.

After detectives began their investigation it was determined that the evidence was sufficient enough to validate there had been inappropriate actions between the two. Sheriff Donald J. Hill said, “These types of cases occur more frequently than they should and the Sheriff’s Office will continue to actively pursue individuals who prey on underage children for prosecution.” Sheriff Hill further asks parents to please be more conscious and monitor your children’s actions and their use of cell phones and social media sites.

Shehan was arrested and booked at the Polk County Detention Facility under a $100,000.00 secure bond. At Shehan’s first court appearance he was appointed an attorney with the public defender’s office and is currently out on bond. He has a next court appearance of September 24.
