Eustis Police Department responds to a domestic argument resulting in two arrested for Methamphetamines
[Eustis, FL] –On September 7, 2014, Eustis Police Department Road Patrol was dispatched to a domestic argument at the Cara Mar Motor Lodge, 1414 S. Bay Street, Eustis, FL 32726.
While conducting the investigation, evidence led investigators to believe there was an active methamphetamine lab in the room. A search warrant was executed; a search of the room confirmed an active methamphetamine lab.
A white female, Mary C. Witsman, DOB: 3/5/91 and a white male, George A. Mayer, DOB: 1/26/72 was charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine more than 28 grams, Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams, and Possession of Paraphernalia. Both defendants have a criminal history with narcotics. In addition, Mayer had 10 active Lake County Warrants.
The adjacent rooms were evacuated to ensure the safety of the motor lodge occupants and no injuries occurred. Lake County Sheriff’s Office Hazardous Chemical Unit assisted in the decontamination of the defendants before transport and the collection of the chemicals.
