DEPUTIES DISCOVERS MAN HIDING IN TRUNK OF VEHCILE AFTER BREAK IN
Saturday morning deputies responded to a call about a suspicious man in the yard who they saw went into their garage. Upon arrival, officers entered the garage finding Jeremy Banning hiding in the trunk of a vehicle inside the garage.
Banning was immediately taken into custody for breaking and entering. After the victims began looking around they found where other vehicles had been broken into and damaged in addition to some property being missing which was later found in the woods.
Jeremy Banning, 33 of 778 Grays Creek Church Road of Rutherfordton was charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon, two counts of Resist Public Officer, Injury to Personal Property, Attempted Larceny, two counts Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicle, two counts of Breaking and Entering of a Residence, and Assault on a Government Official. Banning is currently being held in the Polk County Detention Facility on a $50,000 secure bond and had a first appearance today. His next court appearance is September 17.
Justin Keith Lowery, 28 of 1026 South Broadway Street in Forest City was also charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon. He is being held in the Polk County Detention Facility on a $10,000 secure bond. Lowery also had a first appearance today and was given his next court date which is September 17.
